The Armenian cuisine restaurant "Nojan Tapan" is located in Asari. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant and on terrace, small playground for children. The restaurant owner says that a real Armenian is characterized by a generously abundant table and it offers you food and drink diversity.

Very good fish restaurant located in one of the small fish villages in Ragaciems (18km from the cottage) with outstanding interior! Recommended to book a table and try Fish Soljanka, very rich soup!

The park has multiple rare natural values – untouched raised moss bogs, moist black alder forests, floodplain meadows with wild horses and cows, as well as coastal lakes rich in water birds, while the depths of mires retain stocks of health elixir. In total there are 8 different length, difficulty and surface trails out in the nature.

The landscape of resort park with a network of winding tracks along Versupite river was projected in 1839 by Karlis Heinrich Vagner. This beautiful part of Jurmala city is located ~10km from the cottage. The development and improvement of the park was continuous during hundred years. After the erection of Kemeri hotel in year 1936, a symmetrical parterre with lawns, flower plantations and alleys was created in its western part. Walks in the park were deemed to be one of prerequisites for recovery of patients. Across the river Versupite there are multiple small bridges created with a names given such as: The Bridge of “Sighs”, Bridge of “Whims”, “Musical Bridge” etc. The Kemeri park is one of the oldest and major public parks in terms of covered area in Latvia outside Riga. In 30’s of the 20th century the total length of the walkways reached 15 km, and it was even possible to cross the river Versupite and canals with small dinghies. In 2023 in the international competition "European Garden Award", Ķemeri Historical Park received the second prize in the category "Management or development of a historical park or garden". There is a water tower available to visit, showing history of Kemeri and beautiful view over the city.

Getting around

Vehicle entry fee of the city centre except electric cars

The entry fee in Jūrmala from 2024 is EUR 3.00 and it must be purchased on the day of entry at any time (including after entry) before 23:59. On the day of purchase of the pass, the number of entries into the Jūrmala special regime area is unlimited until 23:59. After 23:59 on the day of entry, the pass is valid until departure from the special regime area. More information on visitjurmala dot lv NB! Our cottage is located outside this area!
Getting around

Train is the most convenient way to get to Riga

Train station "Asari" is the closest to our cottage ~ 3km. To Riga it takes 45min with the train. It goes aprox. every 30 minutes, but to be sure check the schedule on internet at vivi 'dot' lv Tickets can be bought both online or in the train by conductor.
