The house is very nicely located, just above the sea. You can enjoy the sea view from the covered terrace. It is quiet. You can hear the sound of the sea and the friendly rustling of birds and pretty salamanders. The nature all around is beautiful, you can relax well in the well-kept garden, there are herbs and a lemon tree. Very close by, you can walk on a small path above the sea on the steep coast through the fragrant nature. In the garden we were able to use a table tennis table, much to the delight of our son. A highlight of our stay was the friendly welcome from Raffaele, in Italian, with hands and feet, with real warmth. In case of problems, he was immediately helpful and yet considerate of friendly discretion. There was plenty of room for four people and everything we needed was available. We were allowed to use everything that was available, which was really very nice! The stay was really great!!!

Since our arrival, we were greeted with great kindness by Judith, who made our stay even more enjoyable. The house is a real gem, full of light that fills the eyes and heart. The huge windows let in the sun, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in every room. The furnishings and decorative objects are simply wonderful, with special details that make every corner unique and charming. We wanted to experience Scario/San Giovanni a Piro during winter since we are considering buying a home in the area. Filomena's place made an ideal base for exploration. Although it was chilly outside (and sometimes stormy), the pellet stove kept the apartment comfortably warm. The view over the Gulf of Policastro was gorgeous whether in the sun, fog, or rain. The kitchen was well-equipped and we cooked most meals there, partly because many local restaurants are closed in the off season. But there's a good year-round grocery store in Scario and a reliable restaurant nearby in Bosco. There are also numerous hiking trails that start within a few minutes' drive. Although we didn't meet Filomena in person, she was always quick to respond to our messages. On the day we checked in, her husband met us in Scario and led us by car to the house, which is set away from the main roads (and thus quite private and peaceful). We appreciate their kind hospitality and highly recommend their home.

The apartment is comfortable and very well cared for. An oasis of peace and sun. The sea is enchanting and the recommended restaurants in the area turned out to be great!Marta was courteous, friendly and very generous giving us fresh fruit freshly picked from her garden!!!!

Castelmezzano is a hidden gem and perfect in April before the crowds and heat come, although it would have been interesting to try the zip line which doesn’t start till May-June. It is a very hilly town with lots of steps, but incredibly beautiful and awe inspiring, and we enjoyed hikes including to Pietrapertosa. Luigi’s apartment is fantastic, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Maria provided us clear instructions how to get there and where we could park. We are getting used to different opening hours in Italy than what we are used to in Australia, and had fantastic food. Luigi and Maria are great hosts, responsive, provided local recommendations and were very helpful. Highly recommend their home.

If you are visiting Matera and want to be in the center of the Sassi, this location is ideal. The space is clean, beautiful and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is hot and powerful. The kitchen is well stocked and Giuseppe left us snacks and beverages to welcome us. Note: Follow Giuseppe’s instructions on how to arrive at the apartment. GPS will get you there but on a much more difficult route to traverse with luggage.

At the end of March, this is a place for people who love absolute peace and seclusion. The terrace has a beautiful view over the bay and when you fall asleep you can hear the sound of the sea. The space was small, functional and very well maintained. In terms of space as well as seating and sleeping arrangements, we imagine the apartment for longer stays for three people as too small.

beautiful place, in the middle of the Italian country side! super quiet and peaceful, and comfortable stay. if you like to cook Italian food, you will find a super market (Euro 2000) which have the most amazing selection of everything an Italian cook need. the host is wonderful, very responsive and nice! highly recommend!
