Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lucca

We were six adults, two children (3-year-olds) and one infant staying at the house for a week. It’s located in a secluded spot with a large garden and beautiful views of the Tuscan landscape. We used all of the five bedrooms upstairs and they were dark and cool. The kitchen and living room downstairs also stayed cool. Right outside the kitchen there’s a really nice spot that’s in the shade for the most part of the day, where we had most of our meals. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a dip in the pool. However, you definitely need a car to get around. The gardener came around several times a day to maintain the pool etc. We appreciated this, but might be good to know if you’re looking for complete privacy. We also had some issues with the bathrooms; one toilet and a shower didn’t work properly but were fixed within a day and this didn’t affect our experience. The washing machine didn’t work despite repeated attempts by the host to fix it. The barbecue is in the trash room.

This villa in Viagreggio perfectly suited our needs. The space was exactly as described - the A/c was needed in the high temperatures. The property is ideally situated between the train station and the beach - it was approximately an 8 minute walk from the station, and 10 minute walk to the beach. Irene was a great host - responding very quickly to any questions we had.

Super nice area. Beautiful pool and super lovely hosts. The arrival was no problem, even the somewhat arduous road was no longer an issue after the 2 driveway. I would just not recommend it with a deep car😉. The hosts were already on site and the check-in was a dream and can also be reached at any time. Will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended. 🫶

Our stay at Teresa’s place was exceptional. The apartment is in a great location for walking to the beach, to shops, to restaurants, and parks, etc. Parking on the premises is a great boon. Also it is an ideal base for exploring Tuscany. The apartment is large, bright and well maintained. We felt very much at home here. Teresa and her husband are delightful, helpful, friendly and responsive hosts. We recommend this Airbnb most highly and hope to return.

We had a great time at Carlo and Elena's. The fenced garden and pool were real pluses. Not to mention all the little touches that Carlo had for us, and even a gift for our little puppy. The accommodation is peaceful surrounded by mountains with beautiful views. We would recommend this house and its host because everything was perfect!

Silvia's house is spacious, well distributed in the spaces and comfortable. The outdoor spaces, although unused, caused bad weather, were well maintained and functional. The only piece I could make is that I didn't mean that "coffee machine" meant mocha, but it's not relevant to the stay. If we go back to the area, I'll definitely review this place again.

We had such a fantastic stay (family of six). Only disappointment was having to leave. The setting and hospitality was great. The stairs within the tower unit proved a little onerous but only added to the historic feel… plus the view once on top made the climb more than worth it. Also, the cooking class with Monica was terrific. She was excellent and very patient and playful with our children. We hope to return again soon.

We had a wonderful week at Cristina's house in Fabbiano and really enjoyed our break from everyday life there. The house is beautifully integrated into the small, quiet, very romantic place. From the garden you can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley and the mountains and you can also take a nice hike from the house. Cristina's welcome was very warm and made us feel really welcome in her home. We could ask her at any time if we needed advice. The garden is fantastic. Unfortunately, it was already too cold for the pool. We really enjoyed the fireplace instead. Despite the mixed weather, we did a lot because the house is centrally located between the sea, the mountains and some very beautiful cities (e.g. Viareggio, Lucca, Pisa, Bargo). Since the garden is completely fenced, our dog was also able to move freely the whole time. For small families who love peace and seclusion, the house is ideal

This place is very lovely located at a good location. The house itself is nice and have everything you need! Marco is very responsive and friendly, he also gave us some recommendations of where to go/eat. I really recommend this house!

CaseMaggi was our perfect home base for a week. It was lovely (just as pictured), a good size for 3 adults with all the amenities you could want and more! An easy walk to groceries, cafes, restaurants, farmacias, Piazza Santa Croce. Hosts were so helpful, especially when we got sick, making recommendations and even helping us cancel a dinner reservation we otherwise would have been charged for. Only 2 things we didn’t love. The bedsheets were rough/scratchy (being sick, we spent more time in bed than we would have liked). Also, street can get noisy at night (especially Saturdays). There’s a restaurant (a great one, we went there!) directly below and a bar on the corner. Lots of vehicle and people noise till the wee hours, hard to shut out even with windows closed. But neither issue was enough to detract from our trip. Florence is amazing, Margherita and Michael were wonderful hosts, and CaseMaggi is the perfect place to experience it! We’ve already recommended it to friends!

We had a lovely stay in Florence no small thanks to our home away from home and to Nicola for being so professional but also very kind and considerate! Nicola was always easy to reach whenever we had questions about the apartment and was also kind enough to give us a few pointers on unique places to go in Florence for sightseeing and for eating. The apartment is spaceous, well maintained and clean, about 10-15 minutes' walk from the centre, has plenty of facilities and homely interior. Our only minor grievance was the bedroom window which was not very soundproof and due to some temporarily redirected bus routes, it could be a bit loud during the night. We had booked a stay long enough for us to take Nicola up on his offer on a free tour. It felt personal, unique and lasted for close to 3 hours' time. It was engaging and at a pace that allowed us to take it all in. All in all a wonderful experience! Many thanks to Nicola for an easy transition from work life to bucket list holiday!

The house we originally booked was outside the old city. Temporarily, due to heating issues, the host changed us to an apartment in the old city. Although the quality and experience were better, we had to find our own parking space and carry heavy luggage to find a place to stay in the steep old city, which was very physically and mentally exhausting. Fortunately, the host's grandson and granddaughter (very friendly and beautiful young people) picked us up and prepared the room for us.

Friendly hosts who supplied a very well stocked apartment with everything you might need, even some bonus items like a rather large cake and a bottle of wine! I booked it for just myself even though there were 3 bedrooms and 2 baths but it could very comfortably host a family or group. The location is 5 minute walk from the train station and 10-15 minutes over the wall to the old city and the aqueduct and path is right outside the door. Recommended!

Mimma’s place in Florence was an amazing stay! The location was perfect—very walkable and in a safe, convenient area close to everything. The apartment was exactly as expected, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Communication with Mimma was good; she was responsive and helpful throughout my stay. I felt completely at ease and enjoyed every moment here. I will definitely stay again in the future and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Florence!

Daniela is just thoughtful and perfect as a host. She was very nice and always available to us, even going beyond her prerogatives by offering us additional services for our daughter who sprained her ankle during our vacation. You can tell she loves what she does and she does it perfectly. The accommodation is perfect and what about the location: only a 10-minute walk to the train station or airport. The city center is a little far on foot but it's very doable when you're on vacation (about 30 minutes). Despite the location close to the airport, the accommodation is quiet at night. The accommodation is very functional and very nice. Everything is done to make you feel good. Grazie mille Daniela

I wholeheartedly recommend these hosts and the apartment. Convenient location: near the train station. There is a bus stop nearby. The apartment itself is comfortable, quiet, warm. The kitchen has everything you might need. The TV works great, the internet is instant. In general, there are no shortcomings. But most importantly, they are wonderful hosts, hospitable and helpful. It was especially nice to get sweets from them after a long journey. Thanks to Teresa and Francesca!

We just left Sarahs Villa in Portovenere it was so beautiful and hard to leave. Beautifully decorated and well kept in a beautiful building location with the most outstanding views. Sarah has been great the whole week we were there. We will definitely come back and I highly recommend. View 10/10 Decor 10/10 Location 10/10 Parking 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Market, beach, pharmacy, dock, bus stop, cafes all within 5 minute walk.

The place was really very nice and everything was as described. The location is really great, both the beach and Portovenere are just a short walk away. Directly in Portovenere, wonderful hiking trails start, so you hardly need the car...The garage is an absolute plus! The communication with Nicoletta was very easy and she gave all the important information in advance. After a few days, we were just allowed to move into an apartment with fantastic sea views and views of the bay, which we really found super nice and not self-evident. We would come back in a heartbeat and spend our vacation here! :)

Really good experience. Excellent structure, well cared for, great hospitality and communication with the owner. The building is really ok, with attention to detail, as well as hospitality. There is rarely a bottle of classic Chianti with two glasses for a welcome aperitif. Really great service. Congratulations.

The location was perfect. We walked to restaurants and attractions easily. Lorenzo left us with many restaurant recommendations that were wonderful, we tried several during our stay. Lorenzo was quick to respond to all of our questions, and was so very helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed being in the heart of the old city. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Large airbnb tucked outside the city. Location is very walkable. Space is large, and unit is clean. Marina & her team were very accommodating with us as well, which I appreciate!

My wife and I stayed at Mirela's apartment after visiting Rome and everything was fantastic. The apartment was squeaky clean, easy to get to, and was incredibly comfortable. After exiting the train station, I was a little worried about how busy it was outside the building, but once we made it inside, I realized how quiet the apartment was. The place was incredibly clean, which was appreciated. Mirela had left tons of recommendations on restaurants, shopping, and activities in the area. She even left us a welcome gift! She also kept in touch making sure everything was okay and that we had everything we needed, also appreciated. The location is within walking distance to all the big sites in Florence and was easy to find, easy to get into and out of, and great for taking day trips to other cities due to how close you are to the train station. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to visit Florence.
